To Bowl, or Not to Bowl

Updated: Apr 29, 2019

My kid is definitely not into competitive sports. That being said, she still likes being active and doing sports-like activities, but without the stress, schedule, and politics that come with team sporting events. The perfect choices for her ended up being tennis, swimming, and bowling. (None of which are on teams, but bowling is an individuals league).

We've been visiting West Seattle Bowl on a regular basis for the past few years, and have a second year of Junior Bowling League under our belts. Suddenly it dawned on me, "This is a great place for a field trip!" A few conversations later, we were on our way to hosting 30 kids and parents on a behind-the-scenes tour of the alley.

We created a handy Bowling 101 printable (download your free file here!) and took groups of people behind the back walls of the building to see the pinsetters in action, plus everyone got a few rounds of bowling and shoe rental included. Check with your local bowling alley to see if they're willing to host a sneak peek event for you too!
